Accept your emotions.
Don’t ignore your feelings like they don’t exist, but face them. Accept your emotions in a way that makes you feel good, like writing them down or talking to a friend. Focus on how you are feeling and what is going on in your body.
- Don’t be surprised if you feel betrayed, hurt, angry, upset, sad, confused, or disbelieving. It is normal to feel so many emotions.
- Your emotions can bring clarity. For example, you might realize how much your marriage means to you or how to hurt you feel about your husband’s actions.
